ABSTRACT allows software developers to create a cross-reference of system objects and procedures, track object and field usage and the relationship between objects, and perform file analysis and other reference tasks.
SEQUEL Software has announced that ABSTRACT, the integrated cross-referencing, documentation, and programming tools for Power Systems running IBM i (System i, iSeries, and AS/400) now interfaces with the IBM Rational Developer for Power Systems Software (RDP) environment.
ABSTRACT 10.27 interfaces with IBM RDP 8.0 (and higher) to supply additional tools to the RDP environment. It allows software developers to create a cross-reference of system objects and procedures, track object and field usage and the relationship between objects, and perform file analysis and other reference tasks. ABSTRACT also provides graphical flowcharting to document and analyze applications. ABSTRACT makes it easy to maintain cross-reference information independently for multiple software applications within the IBM RDP environment and to diagnose, analyze, and document the impact of modifying and enhancing applications.
IBM Rational Developer for Power Systems Software is a rich desktop development environment for creating, maintaining, or porting software applications to IBM Power Systems. It offers a set of tools integrated into an Eclipse workbench, including remote IBM i, AIX, or Linux file management; searching; editing; re-factoring; application analysis; build; and debug.
Along with the software release, a new webinar—Application Development Control Starts with the Right Tools—will be available April 26th.
