Any discussion of time servers should also include something on DST. I am still a bit confused on if and how v5r3 handles daylight saving time, and with the latest congressional tampering with the dates this is becoming an even more "timely" issue.

Great point. Actually all of this information is defined on the time zone definition. You can see this using the WRKTIMZON command. Take a look at the DSTSTR and DSTEND parameters on the the CHGTIMZON command.
