Kisco Information Systems announces a new security enforcement tool for the IBM i platform of computers.
iSecMap creates a security map for the system and then lets the customer check on what has changed since the map was established.
iSecMap starts from the premise that the current security configuration is what the customer wants in place. Then, over time, it lets the customer check current security to see if any changes have crept in. When changes are found, the customer is given the chance to either accept the new configuration or change it back to where it was before the change.
For customers who are working on their security configuration, iSecMap lets them monitor changes as they are implemented and confirm that the changes are being introduced as planned.
The software maps the key elements of IBM i security including security system values, user profiles, group profiles, authorization lists and library level security. Optionally, the customer can also track object security within libraries that the customer selects and object security within Integrated File System paths. In each area being tracked, key security settings are mapped and watched.
iSecMap includes a Security Monitor function that runs as a background batch job. At intervals specified by the customer, security is checked against the established baseline map and changes are reported. Live notification of changes is made by message and/or by email to multiple destinations.
The software also includes comprehensive listing of the baseline mapped information stored for the system. This can be used for audit review by bringing all of the key security information for a system together.
iSecMap is priced based on the number of user profiles to be supported. User price tiers start at 100 users with 250 user, 500 user and unlimited user licenses available. The software is compatible with systems using IBM’s V5R4 software release and higher, including i/OS 7.2.
Complete product information, including an on-line product demo and support information, is available at www.kisco.com/ism.
iSecMap pricing starts at $495.00 for a single partition 100 user license and topping out at $1,295.00 for a single partition unlimited user license. For companies with several systems, Kisco offers multiple-license discounts. LPAR pricing is also available to let customers implement the software in multiple partitions on a single serial number.
