IBM Multi-Cloud Data Encryption V1.0 offers file, folder, and volume layer encryption in any cloud environment, adding policy management and standards-compliance integration with centralized key management.

IBM® Multi-Cloud Data Encryption V1.0:

  • Enables you to encrypt files, folders, and volumes in any cloud while maintaining local control of encryption keys
  • Integrates with IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager (SKLM)
  • Helps to protect against unauthorized access to data by encrypting data at the file or volume layers
  • Designed to allow you to move cipher data between clouds that are running Multi-Cloud Data Encryption without decrypting and re-encrypting the data

Overview

IBM Multi-Cloud Data Encryption provides you with a file, folder, and volume encryption solution that helps to protect your data in any cloud environment while keeping local control over the access policies. As a security-rich, software-based, agent-controller solution, agents can be deployed on operating systems of server nodes in any cloud, coordinated, and managed through an external policy manager and controller that enforces access control.

In addition, the policy manager can be integrated with IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager to archive and manage the encryption keys used to encrypt the files, folders, and volumes. When combined with Key Lifecycle Manager, Multi-Cloud Data Encryption offers enhanced policy management and standards-compliant integration with centralized key management that enables you to locally control and manage encryption keys.
