Enforcive, a leading provider of security software for IBM i and Cross Platform Security products, announced the release of Enterprise Security for IBM i version 8.3. With this release Enforcive continues to deepen its capabilities to regulate and monitor access to the database as well as expand its reporting capabilities. The Enforcive/Field Encryption module is now available as a standalone product as well.
Highlights of the new functionality in this release include:
Enforcive/File Protection
With auditors increasingly checking the presence of controls for database access, Enforcive has enhanced its capability to regulate database activity. Through its File Protection capability Enforcive can regulate file access by function and the type of access to files, including for users with the most powerful user profiles. A full audit trail of file access activity is also available. Using File Protection, organizations can restrict the use of interactive SQL and other access types like Query interface, OPNQRYF, Dynamic SQL, WRKQRY or STRQRY for actions like read, delete, update, etc.
Field Encryption
Building on the success of the Field Encryption among existing Enforcive/Enterprise Security customers Enforcive has now also made the product available as a standalone product.
"Enforcive/Field Encryption is gaining traction in the market. Last year saw successful customer implementations in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia especially among financial institutions and energy companies. Organizations are attracted by the product's ease of use and the flexible combination of the options of encryption, masking scrambling and field security," said Simon Bouganim, CEO of Enforcive.
Report Generator
Working closely with customers that are heavily using Enforcive/Enterprise Security in order to address regulatory requirements, Enforcive has extended the Report Generator adding 15 new reporting categories including Open Port, Inherited Special Authorities, File Shares, Function Usage, etc. For each category the Report Generator provides predefined reports as well as the possibility for an organization to define its own specific reports through granular tools including Boolean conditions.
System i Data Provider support for SSL
More and more IBM i organizations are looking to send IBM i events and logs to third party SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and log management solutions. Enforcive customers have been using the Data Provider to convert Enterprise Security events they select to the syslog format and send them to leading SIEM products. In order to secure the export of events from Enterprise Security to third party solutions Enforcive has added an SSL option to its syslog transfer layer.
