Tributary announces only native attachment of HP StoreOnce D2D De-dupe to HP Nonstop

Tributary Systems has announced the native attachment of the HP StoreOnce D2D De-duplication solution to HP NonStop Systems. Tributary CEO Shawn Sabanayagam said, “Now enterprises running mission critical applications on HP NonStop systems can take advantage of the improved deduplication efficiency and reduced bandwidth requirements provided by the HP StoreOnce D2D VTL and De-duplication Backup System.”

Only Tributary Systems, Inc., an HP OEM storage supplier for 16 years, can provide a native attachment to the HP StoreOnce D2D backup systems to enterprises relying on HP NonStop systems, by using Tributary’s LMM (Library Media Manager) backup/media management application. LMM makes the HP StoreOnce D2D VTL and de-duplication appliance look to the HP NonStop like an HP MSL or HP EML tape library. Tributary’s SMM/LMM media management software application, the only backup/media management application in existence today for HP NonStop servers, has been supplied to HP’s NonStop Enterprise Division since 1997 under an OEM agreement.

Tributary’s Storage Director/ViTAL solution enables HP StoreOnce attachment to other host platforms, including other HP systems (HP-UX, OpenVMS, Linux), IBM Power Systems (running IBM i up to v7.1, AIX or Linux) and open systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX).

HP StoreOnce Backup Systems feature a federated deduplication engine that enables moving data across various systems without rehydrating the data, thereby improving deduplication efficiency and reducing the required data bandwidth. Designed for enterprises, the HP StoreOnce Backup System has backup storage capacity from 2TB to 768TB, and speeds of up to 28 TB/hr.

Tributary Systems develops, sells and supports unified backup storage, remote replication and disaster recovery solutions. Tributary has been an OEM supplier to HP for 16 years. Tributary customers include enterprises in the Fortune 20, Fortune 500 and Fortune Global 1000 as well as SMB companies in banking, financial services, retail, telecommunications and healthcare.
