HelpSystems today announced that IT professionals around the world continue to rank the IBM i platform high for return on investment, and many organizations are increasing their IBM i footprint in 2016. These are the key results of the 2016 IBM i Marketplace Survey, which included more than 800 IT professionals in a wide range of industries.
For the second straight year, more than 94 percent of survey participants state IBM i delivers a higher return on investment than other platforms. And 20 percent of the respondents shared they plan to increase their IBM i footprint by adding new applications and technologies to the popular operating system.
“IBM i users’ satisfaction with this platform is exceptionally high,” says Chris Heim, CEO, HelpSystems. “We’re pleased to see IBM i’s strong performance is leading so many organizations to increase the workload on this OS.”
“IBM i users are a demanding community that insists on reliability, scalability, and security. This survey shows these organizations will continue leveraging this powerful platform to meet modern business challenges,” says Tom Huntington, Executive Vice President of Technical Solutions at HelpSystems and author of the survey.
The 2016 IBM i Marketplace Survey also shows organizations, most with heterogeneous IT environments of multiple platforms, rely on IBM i to run the critical applications that power their core business. A growing percentage of IBM i shops use this platform to support modern technologies like high availability solutions and mobile applications.
“It’s great to see how much development is occurring on this platform. From banks to manufacturers to healthcare organizations, IBM i provides a great value to these businesses,” says Huntington.
