The software suite allows for longer batch numbers across all of its applications, and customers using the G/L module may copy fiscal years and periods between similarly configured companies.

New Generation Software, Inc. (NGS) has issued a new release of its Concert Series general ledger (G/L), accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), payroll, and human resources software.

The modular Concert Series software now allows for longer batch numbers across all of its applications. In addition, customers using the G/L module can now copy fiscal years and periods between companies that have the same fiscal year beginning and ending dates and the same number of accounting periods. The A/P software release includes improved wire transfer handling and auditing of invoices. The A/R software gained a Customer Credit Report and Aged Receivables Report.

The Payroll software gives users additional control over excluding calculation runs from employees' W2’s if required. The ConcertPro reporting module, which operates as a Microsoft Excel plug-in, now includes vendor and sub-vendor names when downloading invoices and account distributions. The Concert Series may be licensed with the NGS Decision AssistFinancial Performance module, which is integrated with the Concert Series database to provide ready-to-run yet easily customizable reports, including income statements, trial balances, budget vs. actual, cash flow, and earnings that are presented in Excel spreadsheets and dynamic Web dashboards featuring graphical displays of financial ratio calculations.

The Concert Series is designed as a modular financial management and accounting system, so IBM i customers can select the specific modules they wish to deploy and interface with their existing applications. It is ideally suited to companies running internally developed line-of-business applications on the IBM i but ready for modern financial management and reporting features. The Concert Series modules can be licensed by user and/or IBM i processor group.NGS has scheduled a “Share & Learn” Webcast for its Concert Series customers and business partners on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, to introduce these new capabilities. Companies new to NGS can schedule private Web demonstrations.
