Alliance XML/400
Alliance XML for the IBM i
XML document translation – no programming required
Secure Data in Motion
A complete secure web services solution for your IBM System i. Automatically translate XML documents and web data directly to your System i standard DB2 database files. Easily deploy XML web services without changes to your current applications and without the need for external servers, expensive hardware upgrades, or third party software.
Supports XML standards
Alliance XML/400 supports the W3C standard for XML including SOAP and XSL stylesheets. IBM I customers can deploy Alliance XML/400 for business integration with a variety of XML compliant services such as WebMethods, Microsoft .NET, WebSphere, and others.
Eliminate complex data transformations
Alliance XML parsing handles all of the XML data formats including UTF-8 and UTF-16 as well as other data formats. Your applications do not need to handle these complex data transformations. The parser converts XML data to standard System i data in the EBCDIC character set.
Save time and money with XML data translation
The translation functionality automatically implements a wide set of functions that are difficult to accomplish in normal RPG and Cobol applications, speeding up project implementation time. Alliance XML/400 handles ASCII to EBCDIC translation, conversion to IBM I numeric formats, field length validation, Base64 encoding, and IFS file integration for documents. These translation services save time and reduce the cost of XML projects.
Automatically send and receive XML documents
Alliance XML/400 automates the inbound and outbound process of XML documents and web services through a combination of HTTP servers, automatic data mapping to IBM I formats, and user application integration. IBM i customers can achieve full integration for processing XML business documents directly into their existing applications.
Security
Alliance XML/400 implements secure HTTPS web server communications to protect sensitive data and meet compliance requirements. Automatic encryption of credit card and social security numbers is provided through a user-friendly API. All data in motion and at rest is protected.
Compatible with Microsoft SharePoint servers
Alliance XML/400 includes support for the WebDAV HTTP specification used by Microsoft SharePoint servers. This means you can exchange any type of document with SharePoint servers. The communications with the SharePoint servers are protected with 128-bit SSL encryption to protect sensitive data.
XML translation maps store user definitions
Alliance XML/400 stores databse-to-XML document field level relationships in translation maps. These translation maps remember the rules you use for converting to and from the XML data standard. Maps also store the rules you want to use for field truncation, multiple field mapping, Base64 encoding, and encryption.
Integration
Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) is accomplished through a set of user exit points in HTTP servers, XML translation maps, and translation and communication commands. These integration points mean that you can make your business applications “XML aware” for translating XML to DB2400 database files and creating XML documents on an ad-hoc basis.
